Opposite Sonorities - Volume 1 (Melodic Contradiction)
Opposite Sonorities - Volume 1 (Melodic Contradiction) by Hristo Vitchev and Ezequiel Ocampo
Finding different ways to play “outside” the harmony and express different levels or density of tension against any given chord has been for long a major quest of every serious improviser.
In this book we seek to illustrate an approach that can easily give any guitarist the access to the two opposing personalities of every sonority. The consonant or "inside" side and the dissonant or "outside" side. The concepts and ideas presented in Volume 1 strictly deal with melodic playing and implementation on the instrument but we will be covering all harmonic applications of these ideas and concepts in subsequent volumes in the series.
