HARMONIC /the-sau-rus #14 (Lydian Dominant)
In this harmonic study series I will be presenting some of my favorite voicings for a number of different chord types. Each installment will concentrate on a specific intervallic harmonic structure or chordal concept/technique that I find attractive and interesting to my ears.
Part 14 presents 42 of my very favorite ways to voice a Dominant 7 (#11) harmony on the guitar.
The voicings are organized in three categories: with the "soprano note" positioned on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd string. In every category I present two different voicing fingerings for each one of the possible highest melodic notes from the chords's diatonic tonal center.
Root on top, 9th on top, 3rd on top, #11th on top, 5th on top, 6th on top and b7th on top.
