Over The Top: Dominant Upper-Structures (Instagram mini-lesson series)

This mini-lesson explores the five Major Triad Upper Structures of a dominant 7 chord. This is a great way to voice dominant 7 chords in a pianistic fashion. On the piano the left hand will play the 3rd and 7th degree of the dominant chord and the right hand will voice the specific triad for the desired extension/alteration of the chord. On the guitar we will pick either the 3rd, 7th or root as the lowest note and the remaining 3 fingers of your fretting hand will voice the desired upper structure triad.
